Dr. Lywood will be relocating to a new location at the Spryfield Medical Centre effective June 1, 2025. All questions should be directed to the phone number below. Lighthouse Medical will be unable to answer any questions regarding Dr. Lywood from June 1 onward.

Update for Dr. Peter Leighton

Dr. Leighton will be moving his practice to 202 Brownlow Avenue, Unit 130B, starting AUGUST 18, 2025. 

• Dr. Leighton will remain your primary care provider.

• This is only a change in clinic location. Your medical charts will also remain with Dr. Leighton.

• If you are unable to travel to Burnside, Nova Scotia Health will work to find solutions that support all of Dr. Leighton’s patients during this transition.

  • Please visit needafamilypractice.nshealth.ca and click ‘Register’. Please select “My provider is retiring, moving or closing their practice” and enter “Dr. Peter Leighton” as your current family physician. You can also call 811 to register.

  • Once you have registered for the Need a Family Practice Registry, Nova Scotia Health will send you an email with more information about next steps and how you can access care in your community.
